Space at the Cinémathèque, introduced by the people who go

Three weeks of space cinema on rue de Bercy, from Méliès to Nolan, with sessions presented by an astronaut, a debris researcher and two astrophysicists.

· Facts checked September 10, 2026

September 30 – October 19, 2026 · La Cinémathèque française

The cycle is co-signed with CNES and covers 120 years of the genre, from Méliès and Fritz Lang to Tarkovski, Winocour and Nolan. It opens with Le Voyage dans la Lune paired with 2001 : l’Odyssée de l’espace.

The hook is the introductions: astronaut Claudie Haigneré, debris researcher Christophe Bonnal, GEIPAN’s Frédéric Courtade, astrophysicists Olivier La Marle and Aurélie Moussi-Soffys. The Cinémathèque’s projection rooms were closed from 13 July to 15 September 2026 for refurbishment, with seats and carpets replaced, so this cycle sits just after the reopening. Session times are listed on the calendar page.
