Paris · NightlifeSilencio: the door only opens after midnight
David Lynch's members' club under the old presses of L'Aurore — gold-leaf walls, a 24-seat cinema, and one hour of the night when the public gets in.
Silencio opened in 2011 in the basement of 142 rue Montmartre, where the presses of L’Aurore once ran. David Lynch drew every surface: the gold-leaf tunnel, the mirrored smoking room, the 24-seat cinema, the stage that hosts concerts and DJ sets until dawn.
Until midnight the club belongs to its members and their guests. After that the door opens to the public for the rest of the night, Tuesday to Saturday, until 6am. The dress code is written nowhere and applied everywhere.
