Hôtel Costes

The courtyard that trained a generation of Paris nightlife. Still the most watched terrace on rue Saint-Honoré.

Jean-Louis Costes opened the hotel on rue Saint-Honoré in 1995 with Jacques Garcia’s velvet-and-red interiors, and the courtyard quickly became the most watched terrace in Paris — the place where the fashion crowd sat during the shows, and the one that gave its name to the Hôtel Costes compilations.

The bar and the restaurant are open to non-residents; the courtyard, in season, is the room to be in. Reservations are taken, but the welcome is a matter of timing.
