Club Metrópolis: a real door under Madrid's most famous dome

More than 6,000 m² inside the Edificio Metrópolis opened as a members' club on 21 January 2026, with a hotel, restaurants, a dress code, and no images taken or shared without prior authorisation.

The conversion of the Edificio Metrópolis — more than 6,000 m² of restaurants plus a hotel, per El Español — opened as a private club on 21 January 2026. Libertad Digital, reporting in March, says the building reopened in January after more than five years of works, and describes a dress code, a rule that no images be taken or shared without prior authorisation, and the Spa de Langostas, a night-time space on the basement floor built around live shellfish, with music, theatrical lighting and a DJ dance floor.

Membership goes by application, and there was a waiting list before the doors opened. Non-members should treat the hotel and the restaurant space as the realistic route in, and expect calls to be taken only in the designated areas, and laptops limited to set spaces and hours.
