Amazónico, and the jazz club hidden beneath it

Sandro Silva's tropical room on Jorge Juan is the see-and-be-seen table of Barrio de Salamanca. The real move is downstairs: the Jungle Jazz Club plays live every night of the week.

Sandro Silva and Marta Seco opened Amazónico in 2016 on Calle de Jorge Juan, and the room has not had a quiet night since: palms, rattan, a wood-fire grill and a tropical soundtrack that gets louder as the evening goes on. The kitchen moves between Latin America and Japan — ceviches, Nikkei sushi, espeto skewers straight off the fire.

Book the late sitting, then take the stairs. The Jungle Jazz Club, hidden downstairs, plays live music every night of the week, and the second half of the evening happens there.
