Amaterasu: sixteen seats in a basement behind Hotaru

A concealed omakase room inside a working restaurant on Calle de Alcalá — twelve courses at €85, two seatings, and a DJ on Thursday to Sunday nights, for sixteen people.

· Facts checked September 21, 2026

Amaterasu opened on 24 January 2026 inside Hotaru, at the same address on Calle de Alcalá. You come in through the restaurant and go down: the room is a basement, sixteen seats, set apart from the pace of the street. A DJ plays on Thursday to Sunday nights, which is why the 21:00 seating makes more sense than the one at 14:00.

There is nothing to choose. Twelve courses, €85, drinks not included, with a wagyu supplement at €10. Two pairings, from €35, built on sparkling and organic whites and rosés; sakes and Japanese teas — matcha, kukicha, hojicha — are on an open list, with no obligation to take a full pairing. Reservations at amaterasumadrid.com, or by phone on 608 49 38 32.
