The Palace: a circular bar under the 1912 dome

Twenty-two months of work and €90 million later, the Westin name is gone and the 27 Club pours cocktails inspired by notable historical figures, across from the Congreso.

The house finished a 22-month, €90 million restoration in March 2025, having stayed open throughout with work in stages, interiors by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, leaving the Westin name for Marriott’s Luxury Collection. Four hundred and seventy rooms, One MICHELIN Key on the 2025 list. In La Cúpula, sit at the circular bar shaped to the rotonda, under the 1912 stained glass, rather than at a table.

The 27 Club takes its name from the Generación del 27 and its cocktail menu from notable historical figures, alongside reworked classics. Come before dinner: the Congreso is directly across the square and the Prado Museum is a short walk away. Sunday brunch under the dome runs 13:30–4:00 PM, not available in summer. 27 Club runs 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM Monday to Thursday and 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM Friday to Sunday; La Cúpula Bar 11:00 AM to 1:00 AM daily.
